ADI Expands Its Commitment to Training

By Laura Stepanek, Contributing writer
April 8, 2008

ADI today announced it expanded its training initiatives to help dealers remain competitive in the low-voltage industry. Focused on leading the industry in high-quality education, ADI has added a variety of new training courses in fire, IP, audio/video, and more.
ADI’s extensive program involves a comprehensive set of valuable training opportunities including: Expo seminars, NICET fire alarm preparation courses, Security Networking 101 IP training, Networking 201 Advanced Lab & Certification prep courses, Russound’s All Wired Up University, CEDIA Home Theater Audio Boot Camps, CEDIA Level I Review and Exam courses, Webinar Wednesdays, National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) classes, vendor training and counter days, new product rollouts, interactive demonstrations, and more.

ADI is teaming up with industry associations and vendors to provide dealers with training courses to match all skill levels and business needs.

“ADI provides the training we need to stay informed on the latest technology. Last year, I attended the IP training at my local branch and now have a better understanding of how to use networks for security applications,” said Scott Casas, service manager at Security Designs in Livonia, Mich. “The training classes ADI offers helps us to win new jobs, and expand our business.”

At 40 Expos across North America, dealers will participate in an array of training seminars including IP courses, CEDIA classes, business and project management, A/V courses, security training, wire and cable classes, fire training, home automation, and more.

ADI and the National Training Center (NTC) are providing NICET Level 1 & 2 Fire Alarm Preparation courses across the country, along with free monthly online training through Webinar Wednesdays.

ADI and the NBFAA are offering dealers an assortment of low-voltage classes throughout the year, including fire and security.

Dealers can also attend CEDIA training courses at their local branches, as well as IP security networking courses.

In 2007, ADI trained nearly 2,000 dealers through its IP Networking and CEDIA course offerings. With 39 Expos in 2007, ADI and its participating vendors gave more than 12,000 dealers the opportunity to demo the latest products, meet with leading manufacturers and attend valuable training classes.

“ADI is working hard with its vendors and industry associations to build momentum in 2008, so that we’re able to provide dealers with access to new technologies through hands-on interactive courses,” said John Sullivan, vice president of sales at ADI. “ADI dealers will learn from industry experts, and have the opportunity to explore the latest innovations in an environment where they feel comfortable.”
