Honeywell, Louisville, Ky., received PL-1 certification for its Vindicator security solutions, the highest security certification from the United States Air Force. The certification recognizes the Vindicator command and control (VCC) platform, V5 intrusion detection system (IDS) and V5 access control system (ACS) as an approved command, control and display solution for intrusion detection and entry control systems.

The PL-1 certification required Vindicator to undergo rigorous testing for its VCC, V5 IDS and V5 ACS at the certified Air Force test site C-3, located at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. The designation certifies that the latest Vindicator products and solutions protect PL 1-4 resources without requiring base or command authorities to apply for a waiver against regulations.

The Vindicator network allows operators to receive security event information from perimeter intrusion, video detection, access control and fire systems at a single console. This information can be transmitted either on an existing or separate facility network over any media: wire, RF, modem, fiber, and more, both encrypted and redundantly.

This level of security often is required by government and military installations as well as industrial chemical facilities and many correctional institutions. For more information, visit www.honeywellvindicator.com.
