Cooper Speaker

Cooper Notification, Long Branch, N.J., announced the introduction of its new Wheelock Series EH speakers and speaker strobes at the 2012 NFPA Conference & Expo. The newest solution from Cooper Notification produces high fidelity sound output all in a low profile design for indoor wall and ceiling-mount applications where intelligible voice is required. Cooper Notification is a solution platform of Cooper Industries plc (NYSE: CBE), a global provider of electrical solutions.

With a frequency response range of 300 to 8000 Hz, the Wheelock Series EH features leading intelligibility with crisp, clear voice messages and tone signaling, ideal for emergency communications, mass notification and voice evacuation.  The wider frequency response range allows the speaker to reproduce frequencies closer to the original sound, improving the clarity and comprehension of the intended message.

“Clear, concise and intelligible voice messages that communicate what to do in an emergency are critical for life safety,” said Scott Hearn, president, Cooper Notification. “Cooper Notification developed its new line of high fidelity speakers and speaker strobes, as part of a continuing effort to provide customers with innovative products for highly intelligible voice communications.”

Providing a sleek aesthetic appearance, the UL listed EH notification appliances feature dual voltage (25/70 VRMS) capability and field-selectable taps from 1/8 to 2 watts. For faster and easier installation, the low profile design incorporates a speaker mounting plate, and each model has a built-in level adjustment feature with either a snap-on cover with no visible mounting screws, or an aesthetic two screw grille cover.

To help system designers meet intelligibility code requirements, Cooper Notification is pleased to offer speaker data files for the EASE Evac software design tool from AFMG technologies.  It includes Cooper Notification’s full product line from indoor high fidelity speakers to outdoor High Power Speaker Arrays.
