Crestron of Rockleigh, N.J., demonstrated next-generation integration and personalized automation technologies in a fully-functional integrated home environment at CEDIA EXPO 2012. The company’s booth included the firm’s Studio - Home Designer software, shading solutions, airConnect (which enables homeowners to activate personal room settings from their smart devices), the Sonnex multi-room HD audio system with Apple AirPlay support, and tablet-sized, intercom-equipped touchscreens.

Studio - Home Designer: Enables ESCs to design and program the advanced home automation system faster and easier. In a single, unified development environment, Home Designer provides what is needed to create touchscreen GUIs while substantially reducing programming time.

Shading Solutions:Featuring what the firm calls its Quiet Motor Technology, the line of motorized roller shades, Roman shades and drapery track systems is designed for easy installation and silent operation. The solution brings together designer shading with electric lighting, AV, climate and security control for complete, integrated home automation.

airConnect: Based on near field communication (NFC) technology, airConnect enables CEDIA clients to trigger personal settings on a room-by-room basis for lighting, temperature, shades, entertainment systems or any other devices connected to the control system when their smartphone is in proximity of the specially programmed NFC tag.

AirPlay Support:Using Apple AirPlay, the Sonnex multi-room HD audio system makes it possible for homeowners to stream audio from an iPhone, iPad, or Macintosh computer to any room in the house without the need to switch audio sources - just hit play and it works.

TSW Tablet-Style Touchscreens:Available in 5-inch, 7-inch and 10-inch models, the ultra-thin TSW collection provides the same high performance home control as larger touchscreens, along with a consistent elegant look throughout the home.
