Ninety-six percent of home technology professionals offer distributed audio as a service of their company, according to the annual market research report, Size and Scope of the Residential Electronic Systems Market in the US© from The Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA), Indianapolis. Wireless audio has consistently represented a smaller piece of the audio installation market, but CEDIA is offering resources to help home technology professionals learn about the opportunities wireless audio presents.

“At one time, wireless audio solutions were considered a Band-Aid for “no-cut” situations or low-performance solutions for the do-it-yourself (DIY) market,” said Steven Rissi, CEDIA technical training manager. “But as technology has improved, wireless audio is an excellent business opportunity for home technology professionals, and the Wireless Audio Solutions white paper can help them get started.”

Home technology professionals can learn not only to become the resource on wireless audio, but also how they can add a viable revenue stream to their business. Wireless audio offers opportunities for recurring revenue as well as easy system upgrades for customers who are interested in building their system a little at a time or are ready to upgrade from an existing, basic wireless audio system.

Best practices for installation and configuration, available technology, and consumer interest are also covered in the new white paper. CEDIA’s recent webinar series on wireless audio serves as a complimentary resource for those interested in learning more.

Wireless Audio Solutions: Technologies and Best Practices white paper is available free of charge for CEDIA members or priced at $9.99 for non-members in the CEDIA Marketplace. Archived versions of the webinars are available at www.cedia.net/elearning. Members may also download the white paper from CEDIA’s App.

Additional training on wireless audio will be available at CEDIA EXPO.
