American Alarm and Communications, Arlington, Mass., has acquired First Stop Security’s installation, service and systems monitoring business. Based in Milford, N.H., First Stop Security serves approximately 100 homes and businesses in the region.

“We look forward to providing security services and technology to the First Stop Security customers,” said Wells Sampson, president of American Alarm. “This is a great fit for us. We’ll be able to serve these customers from our new Manchester facility.”

First Stop Security founder and owner Mark Wheeler is relocating to Florida. He approached American Alarm earlier this year to begin an orderly process that would provide for his customers’ long-term security needs. “After much thought and planning, my wife and I have decided to move to be close to our children and grandchildren,” Wheeler said in a letter to customers announcing the acquisition. “So I have decided to transition my security systems installation and monitoring business to a strong, local company.”

There will be no disruption of services for First Stop Security customers. American Alarm has a fleet of installation and service vehicles based in New Hampshire and staffed by experienced technicians ready to handle customer requests. First Stop Security customers’ systems are now monitored by American Alarm’s U.L. Certified central station.

American Alarm, which has provided security and life-safety systems and services for homes, businesses and institutions in New Hampshire for decades, recently moved its New Hampshire headquarters from Windham to an expanded full-service security center at 70 Zachary Road, Manchester.
