The national board of directors of the Canadian Security Association (CANASA) announced that J.F. Champagne, CAE, has accepted a leadership opportunity with a national organization based in Ottawa, Ontario, and will step down from his role as executive director.

Champagne, who has served in the position since 2009, will transition from his CANASA leadership role on August 21, 2015. The national board and executive committee are working with Champagne to manage his transition effectively and will be meeting in the coming weeks to make recommendations on appropriate next steps in the replacement process.

According to a press release from CANASA, Champagne has skillfully led the organization bringing vision, guidance and energy to not only the national board of directors, but to the regional councils and national office staff throughout his tenure as executive director. His efforts to serve CANASA membership shows through CANASA’s most recent successes in membership resources, Security Canada trade shows, Alarm Technician Course upgrades and government relations initiatives.

CANASA said it is committed to its mission and vision and will continue to remain dedicated to supporting its membership and evolving to meet their needs.
