The Electronic Security Expo (ESX), the national trade event for electronic security and life safety professionals, announced Qolsys as the winner of ESX 2016 TechVision Challenge.

This event is a head-to-head, interactive competition in a “Shark Tank” style format for the 10 most innovative products and services chosen from the field of 25 ESX 2016 Innovation Award winners.

Qolsys’ winning product is its IQ Panel 2, an all-in-one security and smart home platform that combines advanced hardware and interactive software services designed to deliver a best-in-class experience and long-term investment protection for dealers and end-users. Accepting the award on behalf of Qolsys was Mike Hackett, co-founder and vice-president of sales & marketing; Ken Parker, vice president of sales; and Jeremy McLerran, director of marketing, who were thrilled to have earned “Best in Show.”

“This is a great recognition for the hard work and effort our entire team has put into innovating and bringing a fresh approach to the market,” said Mike Hackett, senior vice president, sales and marketing for Qolsys. “With 7-inch touchscreen control panels becoming the new standard in our industry, it made sense to develop a smaller, more powerful platform that met the expectations for today’s consumer technology.”

Presiding over the competition, a group of industry judges, who in “Shark Tank” fashion, heard 15 minute, energetic presentations on why their product or service was deserving of the top spot. The industry sharks who judged the TechVision Challenge were John Cerasuolo, president and CEO of ADS Security; Robert Few, director of regulatory, sales operations and customer experience for Time Warner Cable – IntelligentHome; and Steve Firestone, president of Select Security.

The purpose of the event is to choose the Best of Show, an award that exemplifies the most innovative product or service for 2016. ESX continues to highlight next-gen technology for the industry and celebrate those products and services that help security
and life safety dealer, integration and monitoring companies enhance the customer experience, improve top and bottom line results or achieve operational excellence.
