Security company G4S acquired Canadian video and security systems company, i-Vision Systems Inc.

Sudbury, Ontario-based i-Vision Systems Inc. designs, sources, installs and maintains integrated video monitoring and security systems for a broad range of clients across industrial and commercial sectors. The video company has been in business in Canada for seven years, specializing in video applications.

“i-Vision Systems is a video company that is extraordinarily good at what they do. We have a strategic vision of being able to provide broader and more complex offerings to new and existing clients and [this acquisition] gives us more in-depth video capabilities and allow us to continue down this path of being a truly integrated company,” Tim Saunders, chief business development officer at G4S told Professional Security Canada.

In addition to boosting G4S’s technology offerings — particularly in the IP monitoring space — for existing and prospective clients, under the purchase agreement, G4S will assume i-Vision’s supplier partnerships, its certified technicians and an established network of subcontractors across the country.

“We are pleased to announce that we have reached this agreement with G4S,” said Mike Lawson, president of i-Vision Systems, in a statement. “G4S is investing in technology. This is a fantastic opportunity for our customers to enjoy full access to world-class security technology solutions, including a world-class monitoring facility.”

Saunders added that as G4S continues down its strategic path of bolstering its offerings to new and existing customers, more acquisitions could be in the works. “Though I have nothing to talk about right now, the path we are going down will require us to acquire more talent and capabilities moving forward,” Saunders said.
