According to industry sources, Morgan Hertel is joining Rapid Response Monitoring Services, Syracuse, N.Y., to oversee the start up of its west coast operation.

Hertel, formerly vice president and general manager of Mace Security, stepped down from that position two weeks ago. A press release cited “personal reasons” as the cause of Hertel’s departure from Mace. Hertel is a veteran of the security industry with more than 30 years of experience.

Rapid Response offers residential central monitoring and commercial security monitoring services in the United States and internationally. The company also provides global positioning system monitoring, video monitoring, remote management, two-way voice monitoring, wireless communications, emergency line and elevator alarm, medical monitoring, and dealer support services.

Hertel was not available for comment as he is scheduled to present on the changes to NFPA 72 at ISC West this week. SDM will continue to follow this story closely.
