GVI Security Solutions, Carrollton, Texas, announced that its GVI access control system 300 has achieved compliance with Homeland Security Presidential Directive Number 12 (HSPD-12), a mandated U.S. Presidential directive to establish a common identification standard for all federal government employees and contractors. The system also meets specified intent of Federal Information Processing Standard 201 (FIPS 201).
With the issuance of HSPD-12, President George W. Bush called for a mandatory, government-wide standard for secure and reliable forms of identification issued by the federal government to its employees and to the employees of federal contractors.
