It was in the early spring 1992, and the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) was holding its annual spring meeting in Washington D.C. I was serving as a director and arrived a day early at the request of our president, Bob Bonifas, to meet Steve Doyle. Steve was one of the two final prospects being considered for executive vice president of our trade association.
At that time I owned and operated a central station alarm company in Birmingham, Ala. I had moved back to my hometown in the early 1970s. Birmingham is a great place to live and raise a family.
