Shamus Hurley Named President of Bosch Security Systems
In his new role, Hurley will report to the chairman of Bosch’s worldwide security business and will be responsible for the security systems’ legal entity in North America, reporting to the Robert Bosch North America board. In addition to his current responsibilities overseeing the sales and marketing operations for the Americas region, Hurley also will have direct responsibility for all customer-care functions in the Americas region.
“During his three-year tenure with Bosch, Hurley has been instrumental in successfully transitioning three brands under the Bosch banner, and the Americas region has almost tripled in size under his leadership,†noted Uwe Glock, chairman of Bosch’s global security business.
Glock also commented that Hurley’s clear understanding of Bosch’s customer needs in the Americas region make him well-suited to lead the organization to new levels of market growth in the coming years.
Hurley joined the company in 2002 as vice president of sales for North America, and in 2003, was promoted to his current position as vice president of the Americas region. During his career with Bosch, Hurley has played an integral role during several transitions and acquisitions, Glock maintained.
Hurley has held various sales, marketing, and operations management positions in the fire and security industry for the past 16 years. He has run distribution, dealer and manufacturing businesses in the security industry in Canada, the United States and Latin America.
He holds undergraduate degrees in engineering sciences from the Royal Military College of Canada and a bachelor of science specializing in physics and marketing from Concordia University.
