ISC West and SIA New Product Showcase

With more than 950 exhibitors and 21,000 security professionals expected, the International Security Conference (ISC) Expo West will allow attendees to view the latest products, network with colleagues and gain valuable knowledge through ISC Education. ISC West will take place April 5-7, at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas.

Tom Ridge, the first Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, will be the keynote speaker. Ridge will discuss the emphasis on security in the post 9/11 world, including responses towards emergencies, travel, transportation and security-influenced technological research.

The upcoming event will feature “ISC West Show Daily,” which will provide up-to-date information about show events including new product awards, new technology launches and educational sessions. The show daily will be distributed prior to the show doors opening, giving ISC West exhibitors the opportunity to market to key buyers before, during and after the event. The show daily will be produced by BNP Media, publisher of SDM and Security magazines, and Reed Exhibitions, Norwalk, Conn., producers of the ISC Expo events. New Product Showcase

Each year at the ISC West convention, the Security Industry Association (SIA) offers a New Product Showcase (NPS) awards program. In 2006, SIA’s NPS will introduce several new or re-tooled product categories to reflect the changing security market. The Business Services category will become Business Services and Support Software. Additionally, Home Automation will be replaced with Residential Systems.

Peripherals, a new category in 2006, will cover anything used for installations, testing or support of a system. This new category will join NPS’s returning product segments: Access Control; Asset Tracking; Biometrics; CCTV; Digital Video; False Alarm; Fire Detection; Integrated Systems; Intrusion; Monitoring; Training; and Wireless.

All products entered into the NPS are judged off of the show floor – in the NPS meeting rooms. The awards ceremony will be held the day after the presentations.

Deadline for NPS entries is Jan. 20, 2006. For more information, visit www.sianps.com or contact Jennifer Hart Ackerman at jhart@siaonline.org or (703) 647-8485.
