U.S. Department of Defense Awards Contract to Johnson Controls
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) notified Johnson Controls, Milwaukee, Wisc., a provider of products, services and solutions that increase energy efficiency in buildings, that the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center of Huntsville, Ala. has awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract to Johnson Controls Building Automation Systems, LLC.
Under this IDIQ Electronic Security Systems V (ESS V) contract, Johnson Controls Building Automation Systems will compete with five other awardees on the projects totaling $650 million. The scope of projects will include the procurement and installation of systems and equipment at U.S. Department of Defense installations worldwide, including heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, building controls, physical security systems and products, fire alarm and life safety systems, anti-terrorism measures, and force protection. The contract scope will also include chemical, biological and radiological detection, supervisory control and data acquisition, metering and mass notification systems.
