In keeping with some of the key security technology trends, the lineup of products and solutions Honeywell is showcasing at this year’s ISC West take advantage of the cloud, mobile-device proliferation, easier system integration and more. The solutions include advanced versions of several Honeywell products that have drawn praise from the security dealer and integrator communities for simplifying installation, operation and maintenance.

“If there’s a common theme that runs across the technologies we’re showcasing this year, it’s probably ‘mainstream,’” said Scott Harkins, president of Honeywell Security Products Americas. “A lot of trends like mobile, the cloud and connected home and business used to be considered novelties, but that time is gone. They’re expectations of today’s end users, which is why we’ve continued to invest in enhancing technologies like LYNX, Tuxedo with Total Connect and the MAXPRO platform.”

Specific enhancements you can learn more about at Honeywell’s booth (14023) include:

An updated version of Honeywell’s LYNX Touch 5100 self-contained wireless system with Z-Wave integration and Wi-Fi alarm communications. The new-look system extends its connected home capabilities with advanced sensor technology for garage-door control. LYNX Touch can also sense if a garage door is accidentally left open at a pre-determined time and then close the door automatically.

Honeywell has paired its Tuxedo Touch touchscreen controller with its Total Connect Remote Services to tie together all the technology in a user’s home or business, including security, cameras and Z-Wave-enabled lights, thermostats, locks and shades. The integration allows users to control their system from any Internet-enabled device, including smartphones, tablets, PCs, laptops and others from anywhere in the world.

MAXPRO Cloud 3.0, the latest version of Honeywell’s hosted-video service, provides more options for storing surveillance clips, combining local storage, USB-based storage, a network attached storage appliance and cloud-based backup. Enhanced online tools allow users to manage surveillance across multiple sites to improve security while reducing costs.

MAXPRO NVR 2.5 – the latest portfolio of MAXPRO recorders (XE, SE and PE) and their software-only options

Pro-Watch 4.1, the newest version of Honeywell’s security management platform, allows security professionals to more easily design connected-business systems using a Honeywell software development kit. The open system now supports SALTO disconnected readers and is compatible with Honeywell’s Vindicator Standard Edition intrusion-detection system.
