Three of ASSA ABLOY’s group brands, Adams Rite, HES and Securitron, have released seven environmental product declarations (EPDs) for the following products: Adams Rite MS1850S Series MS (maximum security) deadbolts, HES 1006 and 9600 Series electric strikes, the Securitron M32 and M62 Magnalocks, and Securitron’s entire AQD6 Series of switching power supplies, with additional designation for the AQD6. ASSA ABLOY is the only company to release EPDs in the power supply, maglock, electric strike and deadbolt categories.
An important aspect of an EPD is to provide the basis of a fair comparison of products by their environmental performance. An EPD tells the lifecycle story of a product in a single, written report, focusing on information about a product’s environmental impact, such as global warming, ozone depletion, water pollution, ozone creation and greenhouse gas emissions, and helps to promote transparency regarding product development.
