While I'm not technically a vegetarian, I rarely eat meat simply because I don't crave it very often. But something about eating steak grilled outdoors in the summertime is irresistible! That's why this news from Tri-Ed caught my eye.

Tri-Ed, headquartered in Woodbury, N.Y., ran a special promotion in early June that rewarded customers with beef from Omaha Steaks when they purchased DSC products. What fun!

The contest ran from June 1 - 12 in all U.S. branches. Customers that purchased more than $500 of DSC products received a $50 Omaha Steaks package, and customers that purchased more than $1,000 of DSC products received a $100 Omaha Steaks package. Fare included filet mignon, top sirloins and steak burgers. One lucky contest winner from each branch also was rewarded with a free 40,000 BTU barbeque grill.

"The Omaha Steaks promotion is just one more way Tri-Ed reaches out to thank its customers and exceed their expectations," said Tri-Ed's chief operating officer, Pat Communale, in reporting the news. "The promotion was a huge success," he said, adding that Tri-Ed is North America's largest authorized DSC distributor.
