National Guardian Security Services Inc., Norwalk, Conn., a provider of electronic security services to multi-location businesses throughout the United States and Canada, acquired Professional Security Monitoring (PSM), Jamaica, N.Y. In addition to expanding National Guardian’s presence in the Northeast, the acquisition establishes a secondary, UL-listed, central monitoring facility for the company.

The company’s primary focus is on national accounts and providing third party monitoring to dealers, said George Flagg, president and CEO of National Guardian Security Services. In turn, many of the company’s dealers provide subcontract work and installation support for National Guardian’s national accounts.

The acquisition of PSM adds more than 13,000 monitored accounts and provides a number of strategic benefits for National Guardian. In addition to synergies with subcontracting, equipment sales, potential acquisitions, and technical support, the New York operation provides full redundancy with National Guardian’s Richardson, Texas, UL-listed and FM-approved central station.

PSM is one of several planned acquisitions that National Guardian will use to expand its third party monitoring business and national account support. “We will continue to attract new dealers and grow that part of our business, because it helps us on the national accounts side. In this particular acquisition, the company has dealers all across the country. Our objective is a partnership — we subcontract work and installation support to interested dealers, and provide the dealer with monitoring,” explained Flagg.

“Our target is one acquisition per quarter. There are a couple of locations where we would like to have our own offices, primarily to help us support our national accounts better with our own technicians,” he added. For more information about National Guardian, visitwww.nationalguardiansecurity.com.
