There are Layers When it Comes to State Licensing

Take Tennessee, for example.

Who is required to be licensed?

Any person, partnership, association, corporation who engages in or holds themselves out as engaging in the business of an alarm systems contractor shall be certified.  This includes burglar alarm, fire alarm, CCTV, and alarm monitoring.

Each alarm contracting company shall designate at least one qualifying agent who is or shall be licensed for each classification of service to be performed by the certified business entity.

Then there is alarm employee registration that includes an application fee, fingerprints for background check, statements of any criminal records, and photos for identification card.
