Micro Key Conference

Micro Key Solutions of Kissimmee, Fla., a software solutions provider for the security alarm industry, invited its customers to its 21st annual users conference at the Hilton Daytona Beach Resort in Daytona Beach, Fla., from March 4 through March 7, 2014. This year, more than 150 attendees from 57 companies attended the education and networking event, with a strong focus on workflow. The theme of the conference was “Winning the Race with Micro Key” for the locational ties to the Daytona 500.

“We did things a little bit differently this year,” said Victoria Ferro, president of Micro Key Solutions. “After meeting our customers over the past year, we realized that customers could use a tune up to create a workflow plan to utilize all of what their software offers. We focused on breaking down all the modules into core elements on both the accounting and central station sides, while maximizing efficiency and productivity.” Ferro added, that all of this year’s educational classes were spun toward the philosophy of optimizing workflow from the beginning with the end result in mind. “It was a huge success with our users,” Ferro added.

In addition, attendees were educated on the 350 new features, two mobile applications, add-on modules, and a new graphical user interface for its software, staying with the theme of how the new additions could help optimize overall workflow efficiency.

The most popular sessions at the 2014 conference, according to Ferro, included “Smart Scheduling” and “Understanding Central Station Reports for Greater Operator Efficiency.” Smart Scheduling aims to provide customers with the end result of paperless service tickets, allowing technicians to pull up tickets on their smart devices, rather than coming into the office to pick up paper tickets and schedules.

The event concluded with a customer appreciation night at the Daytona International Speedway, home of the Daytona 500.

With this year’s conference wrapped up, Micro Key Solutions is already planning next year’s conference to be held in Disneyworld, which will celebrate the company’s 30-year anniversary. “We will open the conference up with a blow-out gala,”Ferro said. “We are so thrilled to be a part of this industry for so long and we are very excited to celebrate it,”Ferro said. Micro Key’s 2015 conference will take place in early March.
