Digital Recording and Access Control Become Integrated
Dedicated Micros Inc., Chantilly, Va., and PCSC, Torrance, Calif., have integrated Dedicated Micros’ digital video multiplexer recorders (DVMRs) with PCSC’s LiNC-NET access control system.
“We wanted to allow our access control software to be able to access the DVMR directly from our ‘transaction logging screen’ or event list,†said Alan Kosaka, vice president of engineering at PCSC.
With this integration, users can verify an I.D. photo against a live digital image from the DVMR for more efficient confirmation. If an I.D. card is declined, the information causes an event. Then security personnel can match the photo against the digital images.
