Alarm & Security Technologies Inc., Covington, La., was acquired by The Pelican Security Network, Baton Rouge, La. Timothy Joubert, founder, owner and president of Alarm & Security Technologies Inc. will be retiring, but his staff will remain.

Joubert said about the acquisition, "Through the affiliation with The Pelican Security Network, we will be able to continue to provide a wider range of capabilities often available only through large, national companies."

Sonitrol of Lexington Inc., Lexington, Ky., acquired Safety Services Inc., Independence, Ky. The owners and employees of Safety Services Inc. will join Sonitrol of Lexington in sales and technical capacities.

TAS Telephone Alarm Systems Inc. in Lansing, Mich. was acquired by Guardian Alarms, headquartered in Southfield, Mich. Guardian Alarms purchased the stock of TAS Telephone Alarm Systems. Guardian already has a foothold in Lansing so this transaction gives the company a sizable boost to its account base. Most of the employees of TAS joined Guardian and will be helping to build brand awareness, as well as the account base.
