A Diamond-Worthy Strategy

The National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA), Irving, Texas, announced that Honeywell Security, Syosset, N.Y., became the first-ever Diamond-level Executive Strategic Partner with the non-profit organization.

The partnership program, which includes four levels — diamond, platinum, gold and silver — was unveiled earlier this year to NBFAA’s associate members. After only a few phone calls and about two weeks of consideration, Honeywell was pleased to sign up as the diamond executive partner — an exclusive to one industry member.

“Honeywell has been a long-standing supporter of the NBFAA and we recognize the important work it does on behalf of the security industry,” said David Gottlieb, vice president, marketing and communications at Honeywell Security. “When the opportunity arose to extend our support in terms of a Diamond Executive Strategic Partnership, we were pleased to do it.”

The relationship will last for the 2008 calendar year, according to George Gunning, NBFAA president. “This is the inaugural year of a partnership program that we hope to continue for many years to come,” he said.

The diamond partnership program is an all-inclusive package that allows the diamond partner to support NBFAA through advertising and sponsorships throughout the year by making one commitment up front, Gunning told SDM. “It makes budgeting an easier process for both organizations,” he continued.

The financial support from Honeywell allows the industry association to offer new programs, tools and training to help promote and enhance the industry through its government and public relations efforts.

“The monies brought in from the sponsorships are something that we budget every year and depend on to support what we do every day to accomplish the mission of the association,” Gunning said.

For Honeywell, Gottlieb said, helping the organization accomplish its mission was the main goal. “While this sponsorship does help put the Honeywell brand in front of NBFAA members, the primary reason we’re doing this is because we want to continue to support the NBFAA and all of the good work they do for its members and the industry,” Gottlieb said.
