The 2026 SDM 100 Top Brand Choices
This SDM 100 brand-usage report details the top technology vendors and distributors that earned the business of the top 100 security dealers in 2025.

The 2026 SDM 100 report demonstrated something very clearly: the key to succeeding in what one company termed a “weird” year and others called “uneven,” “volatile” and “challenging,” was to be strategic. One of the top ways these companies reported doing that was by being selective both in projects and in the vendors they chose to work with. Issues with pricing, inventory and supply chain caused by ever-changing tariffs, customer concerns about economic shifts and general uncertainty provided headwinds; yet demand for new and exciting technologies remained strong, ultimately leading to an overall successful year for these companies — who were able to collectively bring in the highest RMR total in the history of the report at $740 million.
As we do every year, SDM asked each of the 2026 SDM 100 companies to share their top three manufacturers and top three distributors, based on volume purchased. The resulting lists below represent the wide variety of suppliers security companies in the installation and monitoring channel rely on to help them complete their projects.
These brand-usage lists were compiled from the 2026 SDM 100 Report. Out of the 100 companies ranked, 83 of them listed their manufacturing and 80 listed distributor partners. SDM combined all of their responses and ranked the manufacturers and distributors by the number of mentions each received. Beyond the top 10 manufacturers and top 8 distributors listed in order, mentions were distributed among a number of other suppliers.
