2 New Recording Solutions

Samsung Techwin America announced two new recording solutions to fit a range of video surveillance recording needs. The new 16-channel H.264 digital video recorder (DVR) and 16-channel network video recorder (NVR) with a real-time H.264/MJPEG dual codec offer 4CIF high-resolution images at up to 480 frames-per-second (NTSC). SRD-1670 is a 16-channel 4CIF real-time DVR that uses an embedded Linux operating system. This DVR provides H.264 compression, pre-alarm recordings up to 30 sec. and post-alarm recordings up to 6 hr. SRD-1670DC provides coaxial control and can accommodate up to five SATA HDDs (internal hard drives), with up to two expansion bays (up to four HDDs each). Backup is available with three USB ports as well as a DVD writer. This DVR offers three output video interfaces, which include VGA for 800 x 600, 1024 x 678 or 1280 x 1024 resolution; and HDMI for 480p/720p/1080p resolution, and BNC. SRN-1670D is a 16-channel network video recorder providing 4CIF high-resolution images at 480 frames-per-second (NTSC) in real-time and a dual H.264/MJPEG codec. Record rates range from 120 fps at 1920 x 1080 pixels (2 megapixels) to 400 fps at 704 x 576 pixels (4CIF). Live monitoring is available at VGA, 4CIF, 1.3 megapixel or 2 megapixel resolution, and the NVR also supports megapixel resolution recording.
