Chicago-based Sentry Security and Schaumburg Security merge

Sentry Security, one of Chicago’s largest independent security companies and the 96th-ranked security dealer on the 2009 SDM 100, joined forces this week with Schaumburg Security Services Inc. as the two companies completed a merger. Established in 1970 by Jerry Santo Sr., Schaumburg Security has an established base of residential and commercial customers that becomes part of Sentry Security’s client base. The combined company will operate under the Sentry Security name from Sentry’s offices in Wheeling, Ill.

“We are pleased to have Schaumburg Security’s customers join the Sentry Security family. This merger is an important step in Sentry’s continued growth in the Chicagoland area,” said David Balestrery, CEO of Sentry Security. “We look forward to bringing our ‘Hometown’ service model — customized alarm solutions, knowledgeable technicians, and friendly customer service — to Schaumburg Security’s customers.”

The Schaumburg Security Services transaction is the eighth alarm company merger that Sentry has consummated in the last six years and increases its customer base by more than 10 percent.
