Firetide Teams with ADI for Video Mesh Networking; ADI to Offer Several New Product Lines

Firetide, Los Gatos, Calif., announced a distribution agreement with ADI, Melville, N.Y., a security and low-voltage distributor. Under this agreement, ADI will provide distribution and a full range of support services for Firetide indoor and outdoor wireless mesh networks.

Firetide HotPort high-performance mesh networks replace standard network cabling to provide a high-capacity, self-healing wireless mesh backbone for outdoor and indoor networks. The HotPort system was designed for maximum performance, scalability and ease of use, and allows standard Ethernet devices, including IP video cameras to connect to the mesh, creating secure wireless video, voice and data networks.

In other news, ADI, announced its partnership with Tattletale Portable Alarm, Westerville, Ohio, the maker of the Tattletale wireless alarm system, to offer a portable security system with wireless sensors.

The Tattletale alarm system is a complete alarm system in one compact unit that uses a wireless data link to send the alarm signal. The unit contains an alarm panel, cell radio, PIR, wireless receiver, siren/strobe, and battery back up and tamper. Customers can choose from 16 wireless sensors that work both indoors and outdoors, and can be placed up to 2,000 feet from the command unit.

ADI also has teamed with American Security Products Co. (AMSEC), Fontana, Calif., to distribute AMSEC’s line of burglary and fire-resistant security safes, including the WS1814 safe, an electronic burglary-resistant wall safe.

To accommodate ADI’s growing market needs, AMSEC designed the WS1814 safe, an electronic wall safe that can be tied into an alarm system, which will notify the user if the door is open. In addition, it has a silent panic feature.

Vontronix LLC, Toms River, N.J., a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service provider, also announced an agreement with ADI that will allow ADI dealers to sell the Vontronix VoIP phone service and earn monthly commissions. The Vontronix service is used in conjunction with Zoom Technologies’ V3 hardware that is available at ADI stores.
