GE Security-Residential Solutions, Arden Hills, Minn., has announced its participation in the D-Tools Manufacturer Partner Program, Concord, Calif. The D-Tools software package, along with the Smart ConnectionCenter data, allows GE’s structured wiring customers to easily prepare quotes, purchase orders, inventory reports, and installation drawings.

As part of its agreement with GE Security, D-Tools customers download the products, packages, and shapes from the data tab in their program. They then select GE products one at a time, or by entire packages, for their proposals and drawings. These products and packages have all the necessary information for integrators to complete their bid.

Once they have specified the appropriate products, D-Tools customers can drag and drop products onto a drawing page to create scaled elevation views, plan views, or schematic wire hook-up drawings/shapes. As they finish off the scaled elevation drawings, customers can use special GE features, like choosing whether or not to show the Smart ConnectionCenter door.
