Long-time industry leader Joe Grillo recently joined XceedID’s board of directors. XceedID, based in Golden, Colo., is a card and reader supplier to the access control industry and has undergone rapid growth the past four years, the company reported. Grillo will be involved in assisting XceedID with growth and strategic initiatives.

“XceedID has made its early mark in the contactless card and reader market and I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to work with such a dynamic company,” Grillo said. “The opportunity for XceedID is remarkably similar to the opportunity I participated in back in the mid ‘90s when proximity cards and readers first gained market acceptance. Grillo’s most recent industry position was as CEO for ASSA ABLOY Global Technologies Division, where he was responsible for approximately $800 million in annual business. He also previously held the position of president of the Security Industry Association.
