Honeywell to Provide Surveillance for World Series of Poker

The 2005 World Series of Poker will have a digital video system that meets all gaming regulations installed by Honeywell, Syosset, N.Y., the sole provider of surveillance equipment for the event.

This year's tournament, June 2 through July 15 at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, is expected to draw more than 5,000 poker fans and award more than $50 million in prize money.

To accommodate the special facility being built to host the tournament, Honeywell's KD6i high-speed dome tracking will make up the PTZ portion of the more than 150 cameras that are required to cover all of the tables for this event. An Enterprise network video recorder also will be used.

Honeywell has provided security solutions to the new Wynn Resorts in Las Vegas and Macau, Northern Quest Casino in Washington state and Soaring Eagle Resort and Casino in Michigan. Honeywell's video surveillance system for casinos was demonstrated at its booth at ISC West.
