More than 8,500 security industry professionals will demonstrate, compare and source security technology, products and services from more than 450 exhibiting companies at ISC East 2005, Aug. 24-25 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Sponsored by Security Industry Association (SIA) and endorsed by the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA), ISC East will feature two days of exhibits and conferences on the latest security technology.

Additionally, dealers and integrators will be able to receive company- and product-specific training direct from exhibitors who have opted to participate in the new manufacturer training program.

Dealers will be able to attend one-hour training sessions taught by experts selected by the manufacturer in a classroom setting for free. These educational forums will include hands-on demonstrations showing the benefits and functionality of the company’s specific products and services.

Hosts of the Discovery Channel’s “It Takes a Thief” reality television show will kick off ISC East on Aug. 24. Jon Douglas Rainey, a former thief who hosts the program, and Frank Santamorena, the show’s security consultant, will host an interactive discussion of some of the biggest home invasion misconceptions and best security practices.

The NBFAA’s Fall Conference will be held in New York from Aug. 22-25 in conjunction with ISC East. Among the highlights of the Fall Conference are the CSA Symposium, NBFAA awards luncheon and committee meetings. The NBFAA, Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) and SIA also will present the Second Annual Tri-Association Awards Dinner titled “The Thomas Crown Affair” on Aug. 24.

Manufacturers, service providers, distributors and systems integrators from across the industry will gather to honor the recipients of the Triton award and the SIA Memorial George Lippert award. The event, which will benefit the Klaas Kids Foundation, also will feature entertainment by master pickpocket Bob Arno.
