New Partnership Focuses on Higher Education Market

ASSA ABLOY formed a partnership with The CBORD Group Inc., a college and university market’s supplier of campus ID card software, door access control and campus security systems.

“CBORD shares our passion for providing solutions that better secure college and university campuses,” says Martin Huddart, vice president of electronic access control for ASSA ABLOY Door Security Solutions. “This partnership will enable CBORD to seamlessly integrate with ASSA ABLOY’s IP-enabled and offline locksets.”

CBORD and the HID division of ASSA ABLOY have worked very closely in the past, resulting in a successful collaboration on the CBORD Squadron series of access control panels as well as other CBORD CS Access™ elements. This new dimension of the partnership will, over time, extend the integration of the two companies’ products.

“CBORD is excited about the opportunity to provide its clients with an ASSA ABLOY product set,” says Cindy McCall, vice president of marketing for CBORD. CBORD solutions have already been integrated for a number of years with HID security products, a division of ASSA ABLOY. This new partnership will present CBORD users with an extended product offering to integrate their CBORD Card System to ASSA ABLOY electronic locks.”

The ASSA ABLOY locksets, powered by CS Access, provide campuses with an intelligent locking system that is simple to install, easy to manage and fully upgradeable, according to the company. CS Access is CBORD’s IP-based door access control technology software platform tailored specifically for the unique needs of college and university campus security systems. CS Access has powerful privilege management capabilities that allow schools to track and configure patron access on a 24/7 basis. The system also supports integrated alarms management and surveillance solutions for a fully optimized campus security system.
