PDQ Award Applications Available

If there’s one thing that everyone in the alarm industry can probably agree about, it’s recognizing the ongoing need to reduce unnecessary police dispatches. Many in the industry continue to work towards educating city governments and alarm companies on how to reduce these calls, and those whose work demonstrates the best effort can be considered for the Police Dispatch Quality (PDQ) Award.

Created by the Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC) and the False Alarm Reduction Association, the PDQ Award recognizes the North American security company that best demonstrates a dedicated and cooperative effort to reduce unnecessary alarm dispatches. Previous winners of the PDQ Award include Atronic Alarms, Alarm Detection Systems Inc., Broadview Security, and Vector Security.

“This is our fifth year of the award, and the entries keep growing, which shows we’re impacting the security industry, communicating why this is important and spreading the message,” said Stan Martin, executive director of SIAC.

Applications are currently being accepted. To participate, dealers in the U.S. and Canada must mail their application postmarked by Feb. 28, 2010. For more information or to download an application and the judging criteria package, visit www.siacinc.org.
