At-Your-Service Self Storage and Business Park, which is situated on 10 acres in Bucks County, Pa., includes two two-story buildings configured to provide storage and office suites that meet a wide range of needs for individuals as well as small to medium size businesses.

Being aware of the importance and the worth of the materials stored and utilized at their facility, the operators chose to install a high-tech digital video security system on the level of those found in banks and financial institutions.

Kevin Baisley, the president of Techmark Design Associates, the local company hired by At-Your-Service, recommended a state-of-the-art digital video recording (DVR) system that would digitally record all the activity taking place in the offices, storage facilities and surrounding areas.

The system’s networking capability enables operators to log onto the system with a laptop or any computer on the network to observe the facility being monitored by the system from any location. Also, the remote capability of the system enables the owner to coordinate with his alarm company.

The system includes two DLS-18 digital video recorders distributed by ELMO, approximately 30 cameras, and eight 20in. color monitors. Each of the digital recorders is capable of operating up to 18 cameras.

The DLS-18 digital video recorder that is the heart of the system has built-in motion detection technology that operates the cameras and records only when there is movement in a particular area.
