The Chamberlain Group Inc., Elmhurst, Ill., acquired Vancouver, Wash.-based International Electronics Inc. (IEI), as a part of its ongoing growth plans in the access control industry.

Established in 1985, IEI manufactures a line of consumer and professional electronic products under such brands as Oracle and Reporter and is known for its use of wireless technologies for security and access control. Other product lines include wireless headsets and intercoms, as well as electronics for Internet and automotive applications. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The Chamberlain Group Inc. manufactures and markets access control products including residential garage door openers, commercial door operators, residential and commercial gate operators, telephone entry systems and related access control products.
