Digital Monitoring Products (DMP), Springfield, Mo., claims to be the first alarm manufacturer to earn approval for network communication as a secondary communications channel for fire system central station monitoring in New York City.

The company's XR500 series and XR2500F fire panels were awarded the approvals by passing the city's materials, equipment and acceptance (MEA) performance standards for detection, reporting and network communications. The panels' network technology has also been approved by UL for primary communications.
