SIA new product showcase entrant: keyboard converts to alarm transmitter
March 1, 2005
Pacom’s RTUSignal is a revolutionary application that converts an ordinary PC keyboard into an alarm transmission device. It enables the computer user (e.g. bank teller) to signal/communicate an alarm situation such as a hold-up via the use of user-definable hot-keys (e.g. CTRL+ALT+X). These hot-keys are transmitted via the LAN/WAN to one of Pacom’s intelligent control panels, which in turn can send an alarm to a third-party central station, unlock a door, or even send a text message (SMS) to a cellular device.
