Wrapping Up the Business
December 1, 2004
If you can tell a book by its cover, can you tell a company by its van wrapping? Guardian Protection Services, Pittsburgh, is betting you can by wrapping its vans in clear vinyl with high-resolution photographs of what its services do.
So far, 67 of the company’s half-ton and one-ton vans have been wrapped. More will be added as older vans are replaced.
The wrapping uses thermal resin printing to burn dry ink into the vinyl. Printed pieces are then applied to the vans to create a seamless effect on every side. Several hours are required to complete each van. The wrapping is expected to last up to five years.
