Linear LLC, Carlsbad, Calif., has purchased GTO Inc., Tallahassee, Fla. GTO manufactures automatic gate operators for the professional market (GTO/PRO Professional Access Systems), as well as the Do-It-Yourself Mighty Mule E-Z gate openers, sold through national retail outlets. No terms of the deal were disclosed.

GTO will remain independently managed on an operations basis. GTO manufactures both professional and DIY lines of automatic gate openers, including optional solar power, for single and dual fence gates, including swing and slide gate models for residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural installations. Since its inception in 1987, hundreds of thousands of GTO operators are opening gates around the world.

Linear LLC is a subsidiary of Nortek Inc. In recent years Linear has expanded into consumer electronics with home entertainment products, and into the builder market with structured wiring systems.
