Axis Communications, Chelmsford, Mass., hired account manager Jeff Montoya. Montoya, who has eight years of experience in the physical security industry, will help drive sales for Axis network video products by managing and building account relationships with the company’s distributors, integrators and resellers. He will report directly to John Steen, senior account manager.

Bandit Solutions, Peabody, Mass., formerly known as Bandit America, has received a round of investment funding, which is being used to significantly restructure the company.

Along with the reorganization, Bandit Solutions is launching a new branding and imaging initiative. The company has a new logo, Web site and promotional materials.

Mario Costa has joined Bandit Solutions as executive vice president. John Reardon has joined as a chief strategy officer, and Richard Hahn, president of Richard Hahn & Associates, will serve as chairman and senior adviser.



ADS Security L.P., Nashville, acquired First Coast Security, Savannah, Ga., and purchased approximately 900 additional accounts from three security companies in Florida and Alabama, announced Mel Mahler, ADS Security’s president and CEO. The purchase of commercial and residential accounts from Westco Security Systems, Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., moved ADS Security into the competitive Florida market for the first time. Additional accounts were purchased from Advantage Fire & Security, Prattville, Ala., and from Ultimate Security, Scottsboro, Ala. Financial terms of the acquisition and account purchases were not disclosed.

Merlin Garage Door Openers, Auckland, New Zealand, a door operator manufacturer, has been acquired by The Chamberlain Group Inc., Elmhurst, Ill. The announcement was made by J. David Rolls, Chamberlain’s CEO. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Chamberlain manufactures residential garage door openers and commercial door operators, as well as residential and industrial gate openers and related access control products.

Merlin has been privately owned and operated by Grant O’Malley for more than 17 years. The company has established a wide presence in retail and professional channels for residential garage door operator products. O’Malley will continue to manage the business under Chamberlain’s new ownership.

Chamberlain also announced the acquisition of Grifco Precision Products, a manufacturer of industrial door operators in Australia and New Zealand.



Thomas
Infinova, Monmouth Junction, N.J., a manufacturer of CCTV surveillance and fiber optic communications equipment, appointed Chris Thomas to regional sales manager for California and Nevada.

Thomas will be responsible for bringing fiber optic transmission, IP- and analog-based video cameras, IP-based matrix switches and digital video recording solutions to corporate and government customers.



Monitronics International Inc., Dallas, hired Jason B. Mattingly as regional manager of sales. In his new position, Mattingly will work to recruit new authorized dealers from within the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa and Missouri.
