Genetec announced the launch of the AutoVu SharpX, what it calls the world’s smallest high-resolution license plate recognition (LPR) camera. The new AutoVu SharpX, designed specifically for mobile law enforcement applications, is just 1.65 in. tall. It achieves the industry’s highest plate capture rates by providing two to three times higher resolution than other solutions, Genetic claims. The AutoVu SharpX is capable of reading up to differential speeds over 200 MPH, across three lanes of traffic. The unit also offers a state-of-the-art Super HAD CCD II color context camera to provide the best images in a variety of environmental conditions.
