SIA Names Chair of New Standards Perimeter Security Subcommittee
SIA Standards announced that John Romanowich of SightLogix Inc. was appointed the chair of the newly-formed SIA Standards Perimeter Security Subcommittee. Romanowich was unanimously elected by the SIA Standards Committee at their semi-annual meeting at ISC West on March 29, 2012.
The creation of the Perimeter Security Subcommittee was announced in February 2012. Romanowich brings a respected perspective to the group, particularly in the field of video perimeter security of critical infrastructure, SIA Standards stated. The association views the formation of this new subcommittee under Romanowich’s leadership as an important step toward realizing the vision laid out in 2011’s Roadmap 2.0.
The subcommittee will be holding its first meeting within the next few weeks to chart a plan of action and create working groups that can address in-demand topics within the perimeter field, such as a video perimeter security standard, guidelines for perimeter gate operations, and performance and operational standards for other perimeter technologies.
