Former Secretary of State Colin Powell will offer his thoughts on domestic and world affairs, leadership and his vision for tomorrow when he delivers the keynote address at the 60th annual ASIS Seminar and Exhibits on October 1.

Prior to serving as Secretary of State from 2001 to 2005, Powell was the first African-American chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. A four-star general, Powell’s awards include two Presidential Medals of Freedom. He is also the author of his best-selling biography, “My American Journey,” and “It Worked for Me,” his second book, in which he revealed the lessons that shaped his life and career.

Having crafted and articulated the U.S. position on the world stage, Powell provides insight on effort to stabilize a troubled world and the diplomatic and leadership skills needed to transform unstable regions into areas where societies and cultures flourish.

ASIS 2014 will be held in Atlanta from September 29 through October 2.
