It combines two cylinder technologies — the Medeco XT electronic cylinder and the Medeco X4 mechanical cylinder — in one mortise cylinder housing. The Medeco X4 mechanical cylinder is ideal for local fire departments because it uses simple and familiar mechanical key technology, allowing rapid entry for inspections or emergency responses. The Medeco XT Dual-Tech Cylinder uses existing hardware so no hardwiring is required and it retrofits a variety of cylinder formats.
