The NFPA 2010 Conference and Expo brings a loaded lineup of education, conferences and exhibits when it comes to the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev., June 7 to 10.

“Every aspect of our conference reinforces NFPA’s safety mission,” said James Shannon, NFPA president, in a YouTube video on the show Web site.

The conference program features more than 130 sessions, broken down within 11 educational tracks, two of which — Green and Loss Control/Prevention — are new this year.

Kelvin Cochran, U.S. fire administrator for the Federal Emergency Management Administration, will be the featured presenter Tuesday, June 8, at 8 a.m. Charged with overseeing, coordinating, and directing national efforts to prevent fires and improve fire response, Cochran oversees fire prevention and safety education programs and professional development programs for emergency responders at all levels. He has ambitious goals for the U.S. Fire Administration, which he will talk about in his presentation, "Putting the 'Fire' Back in the U.S. Fire Administration - Shaping the Future."

Other sessions of the conference will be dedicated to reviewing, discussing and voting on codes, including the next edition of the National Electric Code.
