Cook

Merit Lilin, Arcadia, Calif., has changed its company name and logo as part of a rebranding strategy launched at the beginning of this year. Lilin now has an updated logo, which was chosen from about 100 entries submitted from competing regional offices. “New Year, New Products, New Name —same Creativity, Progress and Excellence,” is part of the new campaign. Winsted Corp., Minneapolis, appointed Wayne Cook as general manager of its custom division, Winsted Technical Interiors (WTI). Cook has been with Winsted Corp. for 12 years serving as the director of sales and will continue to function in this role in addition to his responsibilities as general manager.
WTI has offered control room design for the power industry since 1981, specializing in the design, development, fabrication and installation of custom workstation consoles for complex technical environments. John Spooner was promoted to vice president – technical services at Alarm Detection Systems, Aurora, Ill. Spooner has worked for Alarm Detection Systems since 1987, starting as a service technician. Alarm Detection Systems ranked 18th on the 2006 SDM 100 (May 2006, p. 60).



Friedman

Bosch Security Systems Inc., Fairport, N.Y., a manufacturer of security systems and components, appointed Len Friedman as vice president of marketing, Americas.

Friedman brings over 25 years of industry field experience to this position, as well as a recently acquired doctorate of marketing degree.

The company also named Leon Chlimper as the head of its technical support and training group. Chlimper will assume leadership of technical support and training along with his current res-ponsibilities as vice president, systems as the two groups are brought under one leadership umbrella. Chlimper joined Bosch in 2005.


Chimper

Bosch also realigned its U.S. sales regions under the leadership of three vice presidents, sales. The central U.S. region will be led by Eric Cechak. Cechak has also been named head of key accounts, a new role within Bosch, which combines the leadership responsibilities of the national accounts and distribution sales teams.

Roger Leadabrand will continue to head the western U.S. region, which has been expanded. The eastern U.S. region is under the direction of Rob Drob and Bosch’s Canadian sales activities will continue to be led by Norm Hoefler, country manager for Canada.




Morgan

Honeywell, Syosset, N.Y., selected Lauttamus Communications and Security, Weirton, W.Va., as a Honeywell authorized dealer for commercial security systems.

Lauttamus Communications and Security, founded in 1967, is an integrator in both the security and communication areas, offering solutions to business and residential customers.
 
Honeywell also selected Global Security Services LLC, as a Honeywell authorized dealer for commercial security systems. Global Security Services, Savannah, Ga., is a commercial security solutions provider of burglar, fire, access control systems and surveillance camera systems.

CCTV Imports, Covington, La., opened a new location in the City of Industry, Calif. The office will start out with eight employees. The 8,000 square-foot branch will better serve customers by creating a distribution point on the West Coast.

Aiphone Corp., an intercom manufacturer, Bellevue, Wash., appointed Darren Morgan as regional sales and support manager for the Mid-Atlantic states. Morgan will oversee Aiphone’s rep firm, Security Products Marketing, in the region. For information about Aiphone, visit www.aiphone.com.



TOA Electronics Inc., South San Francisco, Calif., manufacturer of commercial audio and security products, appointed Innovative Systems Marketing, Westlake Village, Calif., to represent the company’s growing line of security products in northern California, northern Nevada, and Hawaii.

In additional company news, TOA appointed Fox Associates to represent its line of security products in the Southern California, southern Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico territories.

HSM COO Tim Whall accepts a citywide proclamation from Judy Johnson,
Plymouth mayor, at the PNC grand opening event.

HSM Electronic Protection Services Inc. (HSM) Lisle, Ill., unveiled its fully functional ProtectionNet Customer Service Center (PNC) in Plymouth, Minn., in a ribbon cutting ceremony. The relocation project, one and a half years and $5 million in the making, comprises a contemporary state-of-the-art 35,000 square-foot-facility —tripling HSM’s monitoring capacity.

Niles Audio Corp., Miami, announced several employee promotions and new hires.
Allison Feinberg was promoted to eastern regional sales manager. Ken Johnson was promoted to product manager. Wendy Menendez was promoted to customer service manager. Jim Novak was promoted to training manager. A new hire, Gerald Willis, joined the company as a product manager, heading up the loudspeaker division of Niles. Speco Winners Watch Monday Night Football Live

Speco Technologies, Amityville, N.Y., ran a national Home of the Dome Campaign featuring all of the manufacturer’s high-tech dome cameras. The 2006 promotion included a give-away for a trip for two to the RCA Dome – the Colts’ home dome – in Indianapolis for a Monday night football game. The package, which included tickets to the game, airfare and hotel accommodations for two, was for the Indianapolis Colts versus Cincinnati Bengals. More than 3,000 entries were received through Speco’s Web site. Bradley and Cindy Berry, from All-Tex Security Inc., Omaha, Neb., won the all-expense paid trip.

i3DVR International Inc., Toronto, announced an expansion into the Northeast, Southeast and Midwest to concentrate on underdeveloped territory. The DVR manufacturer plans to increase its regional sales staff in those areas. With the launch of the SRX-Pro, a DVR hybrid, and the Veo, an embedded DVR, i3DVR anticipates a large demand and plans on being prepared to provide full security surveillance solutions.
