Traditionally recording of CCTV images was accomplished by using time-lapse videotape recorders. These security recorders are specially designed VCRs that allow the user to record significantly more that the standard 2 hr. on a VHS tape, but the recorded images are not real time. Digital video recorders (DVRs) represent an improvement on the limitations of VCRs. To see if you have what it takes to take the digital plunge, take the following quiz.
