KBC Networks, Booth 18134— KBC Networks is introducing PoE (Power over Ethernet) to its network transmission range. The first offering in the new PoE series is a fully ruggedized 10/100 Ethernet media converter with PoE+ that conforms to the higher power specification necessary for PTZ and dome cameras.

The new KBC FTLS1 is fully compliant with the IEEE 802.3at specification and acts as a PSE (Power Sourcing Equipment), providing 25.5W @ 48VDC. The unit supports transmission of an Ethernet channel over either one or two multimode or singlemode optical fibers. Full duplex operation also makes it possible to transmit over distances in excess of 30km on singlemode fiber.

“We’re seeing a significant increase in the demand for our industrial IP products, and continue to focus on expanding the breadth of IP offerings,” said Iain Deuchars, of KBC Networks EMEA. “In addition to new PoE units, we’re working on expanding our series of Ethernet switches and refining our ThruLink™ VPN device.”
