Kami Schiller


The convergence of physical access control cards with applications such as PC and IT network access has prompted a new collaboration for HID Global, Irvine, Calif. In conjunction with Dell, the secure identity solutions provider has created the director of strategic accounts, HID Connect position to be filled by Kami Schiller. The position will help HID simplify IT security for the mobile workforce and address the convergence of physical and logical access control.

As a first step in the collaboration, Dell Latitude E-Family laptops are equipped with an embedded contactless smart card reader that reads/writes to HID iCLASS cards and other ISO-compliant 13.56 MHz contactless smart cards.

Schiller, who will report to Debra Spitler, vice president of HID Connect, will help provide a proactive approach to customers using existing HID cards to enter buildings, implement secure authentication on PCs and protect stored data in the event a PC is lost or stolen.   

With more than 15 years of experience in the security and PC industries, Schiller has a background in management, sales and marketing. She joins HID from Dell Inc., where she was a corporate account executive. In her new role, Schiller will oversee HID’s the collaboration with Dell and will develop and implement business and marketing plans to leverage HID on the Desktop and its integration with the embedded contactless smart card reader in select Dell Latitude E-Family laptops.
